Three purposes of Sunday School

One more from Allan Taylor.

They are:

  • Reach
  • Teach
  • Serve

Each of these should be given some time each week in class

  • Reach. Spend a little time each week in class talking about prospects and those who are absent. Have someone share a testimony of how they came to faith every couple weeks. Give a devotional on the priority of evangelism.
  • Teaching is the core of what we do in Sunday School. Do it well. But, don’t neglect the other matters.
  • Serve. Spend some time in care groups. Discuss needs in the group. Discuss how you can help. Serve people. Discuss how you can serve people outside. Adopt a public school classroom to serve. Adopt a people group.

Devote time to each purpose of the Sunday School.

If you have an idea for group life, I’d love to share it. Send it to me at josh@joshhunt.com
