How does God turn the world upside down?
Acts 17:6 says the early believers “turned the world upside down,” and in this week’s session we go back to the very beginning — to a quiet village, an unknown girl, and a God who delights in starting big stories in small places.
Today’s teaching from Luke 1:26–38 explores how God begins His greatest works through obscure places, unlikely people, abundant
grace, and the mysterious work of the Spirit. Mary’s response — “May your word to me be fulfilled” — shows what obedient, faith-filled living really looks like.
We walk through nine themes found in the Christmas story:
• God starts His greatest works in obscure places
• He calls unlikely people
• His entire process is saturated in grace
• His work is often mysterious
• He ushers in the never-ending kingdom
• He does the impossible
• He
empowers through the Holy Spirit
• He works through His unfailing Word
• He invites ordinary people to extraordinary obedience
