Why do so many struggle so deeply to live the disciple’s life? Why are so many church attenders so much like the world? How can we effectively make disciples? Well, it’s complicated.
I have been struggling with the questions above for years. I would find a potential solution, only to discover it didn’t work. I would discover Spirit-filled Christian living and think that was the silver bullet. It wasn’t. I read books on how we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. These will helpful, but unsatisfactory—like getting a man on base but not able to bat him home. I read books on faith—let go and let God. Don’t get me started on the trouble and confusion these caused.
I read, studied, and prayed. Here is what I discovered: it’s complicated. Discipleship is complicated. There is a reason Jesus spent three years training His men. Discipleship involves being transformed by the renewing of our minds. And it involves seventeen other things. Its’s complicated. This is why we are pleased to announce the release of our new series: The 21 Laws of Discipleship. And here is the best part: it is completely free. Check it out at 21laws.org |
