The test of a good lesson is not how people think or feel or even what they decided to do while they are in class. The test of the lesson is what they do when they are outside of class. The goal is always changed lives to the glory of God.

Jesus said we are to teaching to obey. Not teach them everything I have commanded you. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. As Hendricks said it, "We are not out to make smarter sinners."

Teaching should have a constant application edge to it. It should constantly ask, "Yes, but how?" It should ask, "So what?" It should ask, "What now?" It should ask, "How?"
We are not merely trying to create students who know more. . .

• We are trying to create husbands who love more
• We are trying to create slaves who do more
• We are trying to create worshipers who adore more
• We are trying to create Christians who act more Christianly

I often end my Sunday School lessons with a simple question: what do you want to do about what you heard today?
