These events are planned on a shared risk/ share reward. Each participant is charged to attend. Host pays expenses for speakers and is responsible for promoting the event. Whatever comes in is split between the hosts the three speakers (sometimes 2) and a national advertising fund. The more people attend, the less is costs the host.
